RECYCLING - ITS THE LAW

In keeping with Pennsylvania Legislature Act 101, commonly known as the Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling and Waste Reduction Act of 1988, Hatfield Borough continues to maintain the Act's 1997 Goal of recycling 25% of all municipal waste. The Act includes residential, municipal, commercial, institutional and industrial facilities.

Currently residents of the Borough are required to recycle clear glass, aluminum cans and newspapers which are collected by your trash hauler. Glass and aluminum cans are to be placed in a recycling container and papers in a paper bag. Hatfield Borough provides recycling bins to all new residents. Additional recycling containers can be purchased at your local hardware or department store

Residents should also check on their trash hauler's policies for removing grass clipping and yard waste. The Borough provides leaf collection for six weeks in the fall, and branch collection in both the spring and fall. Watch your mailboxes for the Borough newsletter, "The Informer", for announcing concerning these dates.
