Dedication and Business Card Mixer

Borough Council and the Hatfield Economic
Revitalization Committee (HERC) invite all
residents to the first annual “Taste of
Hatfield” scheduled for
Monday, May 3, 2010
from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. along
East Lincoln Avenue in the Borough.
The festivities begin with a Hatfield Chamber of Commerce business card
mixer at 4:00 p.m. on the outside deck of
Hattricks on Lincoln Avenue. This will
be followed at 5:00 p.m. with a ribbon
cutting ceremony for the new Liberty Bell
Trail Plaza, Parking Lot and Town Clock, and
our spectacular “Tasting” event will begin
as soon as the picture-taking is complete.
All residents are encouraged to come
out and enjoy the tasty samples from the
local eateries in the Borough who will be
offering samples of their fares in and
around the plaza. Other local
businesses will also be handing out
pamphlets, information, coupons, giveaways,
etc.
Music will be provided by Mike Trotter of Wham Jam Entertainment,
refreshments will be available, and door
prizes will be awarded.
The
Grand Prize for one lucky resident or
business owner will be $250 towards your
Borough electric bill!
(The winner does
need to be present to win.)
Other prizes include: $125, $75, and
$50 towards your Borough electric bill.
Some Borough businesses are also planning on
having their own raffles and giveaways.
In the event of
extreme bad weather, the Taste of Hatfield
will be held at the Hatfield Fire Company at
75 Market Street.

L.O.C.A.T.E. Law Officers
Concerned About the Endangered
Assisting Individuals with
Special Needs
The
L.O.C.A.T.E. program assists endangered or
special needs individuals who may be lost or
separated from their loved ones.
Information gathered through L.O.C.A.T.E.
allows officers responding to a found or
missing person call to more quickly reunited
someone with family or caregivers.
L.O.C.A.T.E. focuses on
citizens with special needs such as those
with:
- Autism
- Down Syndrome
- Impaired hearing
- Language barriers
- Alzheimer's and
related dementia disorders
Register
with L.O.C.A.T.E.
To
register with the L.O.C.A.T.E. program, a
parent, guardian, or caregiver should visit
the police department with the special needs
person. A photograph will be taken and
a registration form filled out. If you
prefer, you may
download a form
and complete it out ahead of time.

Child Identification Kits Available Through Hatfield Township Police
Many children are
reported missing each year; a lost or
missing child needs to be found as soon as
possible.
The Hatfield Township Police Department invites all residents
of Hatfield Township and Hatfield Borough to stop at the police station (located
on School Road in Hatfield Township) and pick up a free Child Identification
Kit.
Each kit contains:
- Dental Chart
- Physical/personal/medical information
- Space for a recent photograph/hair sample
- Fingerprint chart with peel apart ink strip
Parents can use the kits to document important
information which can be quickly provided to law enforcement personnel to assist
in locating a missing child.
