BOROUGH OF HATFIELD
We're the small town with a big heart
The Borough of Hatfield is located in
north-central Montgomery County roughly three miles north of the Lansdale Interchange of the Northeast Extension and about 30 miles north of center city Philadelphia. The Borough is just over 400 acres (0.63 square miles) in area and is completely surrounded by Hatfield Township. The Borough is a traditional small town with a healthy mix of residential, commercial, and industrial uses.
In 1897 a group of local Hatfield residents decided that it was a good idea to install streetlights in what was then the town area of Hatfield Township. In 1898 a town meeting was held to get the residents opinion as to becoming a Borough. Hatfield Borough was legally incorporated in 1898.
